After three long days on the road we had a welcome break in Banff. We got up late, ate bacon butties (bacon sandwiches) and drank lots of tea. We drove into the town and had a brief look at The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, a veritable castle, and then went down to see the Bow Falls. People were taking rafting tours, horse riding, playing golf but since we are on such a tight budget we parked our car at the end of the golf course and ate our broccoli salad lunch over by the wastewater treatment plant.

Later on we went for a mountain bike ride around our campsite. The kids are now listening to Storynory (children’s story podcasts on iTunes) while I write the events of the day. It's 10:20pm and only just starting to get dark.
The weather is still a bit rainy but not too bad. We are ready for summer to arrive. The first day of summer and the longest day of the year is just a couple of days away.
Tomorrow morning we are off to Drumheller.
