So I guess learning a new language isn’t a piece of cake otherwise everyone would be doing it. It’s like signing up for a marathon and getting a stitch at the first corner! Seriously? How many verbs can there be? What do you mean masculine and feminine? How can a door be masculine? Please, no rude answers. Oh, Ive just been corrected, la portes es feminine.
Today was good. More information loaded onto the information only partially absorbed yesterday. For some relief we had a tour of Trois Rivieres today. I’m sure the information was interesting. Of course, it was all delivered en francais.
The kids had a long and fun day today, too.
Ryan has broken through a new barrier in his reading. He just finished reading Uncle Elephant. It took him abut 5,000 km but at the end when Uncle Elephant said goodbye to his nephew, Ryan took it as a final goodbye and it broke his little heart. He’s a sentimental little soul and recently he has learned the concept of the finality of life plus he was feeling quite homesick for Nanny, Papa and Uncle Bus.
Quick change of subject. We found a welding shop yesterday while driving around. I spent some time drafting up some phrases to ask to get the trailer fixed. I drove to the shop today in my lunch break and was able to communicate my needs to the lady at the desk. I thought I had done a good job when another lady from the back came round and said ‘How can I help you?’ Oh, well. I gave it try.
The bad news is that this shop does not do the type of weld we need. The good news is, my new-found friend called another welding shop, explained what was needed and booked the trailer in for next Monday morning. The lady did also say that we should only have EITHER the bikes OR the spare wheel on the back frame. It’s a long drive home so we will either dump the remaining bike or store the spare wheel in the van.

Ok... I am back in town and freaking out a bit at the franglais coming from Barry! Change?!?! You know how I feel about that. I am so proud of all of you... Ryan is going to be part of our book club! We like a sensitive heart.
Hi! What-up? Are you fluent in french? What is the best thing you've done so far? I was burnt at the cabin and I'm watching American Ninja Warrior.

Hi Guys!
It's Tat-Tat.
My summer has been super so far. My mom rocks. I enjoyed reading about your adventures in quebec and now you know what it's like for me in French Immersion. Enjoy your trip, how is the weather? I got a sunburn that is blistering and peeling and a mosquito (possibly spider) bite that has swollen up like a golf ball. Its bulging out of my leg. I'm not kidding. Anyway, bye.
