Well, we left on time at 8:00am. We left a very cold, rainy day in Vancouver to a not so cold but rainy day in Kamloops. The Thompson River is threatening to burst its banks and there are tornado warnings in Saskatewan.
We had a brief stop in Merritt for lunch and arrived at 1:00 at Karen and Kenny's in Kamloops. We had a nice tour of McArthur Island, where the Marmots have been forced from their burrows due to high water, Riverside Park and the Kamloops city centre.

We found Laverne’s statue outside the TNRD (Thompson Nicola Regional District) offices and library. Laverne was the brother of friends of ours that has been immortalized in a statue in his memorial to the fires in Kamloops a few years ago. Laverne is the one sitting on the bucket.

The home schooling was a great success. The kids were happy doing journal, math, colouring and reading for about two hours. Today was a short day so lets not get too excited just yet!.
