Just going back to what I said earlier about people slamming Ontario, they obviously haven’t been to the North East Coast of Lake Ontario. The lake is warm to swim in, the waves are so much fun and there is no salt!
Mark is a professional glass blower and what an art it is! We watched him make a lime green mug out of a hunk of molten glass. It gets quite hot standing next to a furnace running at 3000F. Mark can be found at armstrong glassworks.com
We spent another night with our new found friends before setting off this morning along the Lake shore, through Picton, across the small car ferry to Kingston.
Kingston is much smaller than I expected. I guess it is famous for the maximum security prison where Clifford Olsen was held for 30 years. I also now know that it is famous as the entry point to the Rideau canal and therefore required a fort to protect it from American attack after the war of 1812. We toured Fort henry which has college students bringing the fort alive in costume and continual marching, role playing and even a military band, known as ‘the drums’.

Its about 28C but the tv this morning told us that it will feel like 40C with the humidity. I believe them. I am melting. I’ve already showered once today and I’m on holiday!!
We have tickets (as part of the Fort henry tour) to the Upper Canada village tomorrow which is situated on the St Lawrence seaway on the way to Montreal. We are 50/50 about going back into Ottawa or just pushing on to Montreal.
It doesn’t help that the KOA that we are staying at is a virtual 5 star resort. Pools, hot tubs, movies for the kids, too many activities to list! We are tempted to tay tomorrow too! Oh well, its Wednesday now and we have to be in Trois Rivieres on Sunday so we have time. We would like to spend maybe Friday and Saturday in Montreal so I think that will work.
Thanks for all your comments. I see the weather is finally picking up in BC. Speak to you soon.
