I will ask my teacher tomorrow. Maybe I will get a star!
Here’s the scoop. There are 10 in our class, seven ladies and three gents. The three guys ce ne pas francais - basically we don’t speak french! The good news is that our teacher, Madame Paradis is very patient with us. She must be a grade one teacher!
Some of the people in Group A are wanting to join us because their group is way too serious and we seem to be having such a good time. There probably should be three groups, A, B and C. Group C would have three participants...all male.

Today we learnt three types of verbs, regular ir verbs, regular er verbs and irregular verbs - all over the map. We did a ton of exercises to show the different forms of the verb ie. I talk, he talks, she talks etc. We also went over a bunch of vocabulary associated with grocery shopping. Over all it’s been a very fun day as the people here, fellow students and teachers are great!
Also, I have been thumbing through the dictionary this evening and I have translated most of the verbs I have been working on today. What a concept, actually understanding what the words mean! I know I need to get to grips with these verbs asap so I will get up early tomorrow and study. Seriously, I really just said that!
The kids had a great day too. They went off to a zoo today and held tarantulas and a snake. I think it was a zoo, not someone’s house? It’s hard to understand what people are saying!
This evening we went on a little bike ride. There are miles of bike paths around here. We even checked out a couple of welding shops and maintenance shops. We will have to bite the bullet this week and get the trailer in to be fixed. We had little chat with one of the teachers today and I’m sure they will help us if we need it. It’s a little scary trying to get this type of serious work done with so little French. Having said that, many people, once you attempt to speak french, are more than willing to help you out with their understated ability to parlais anglaise.
