Day 20 - Thousand Island KOA Gananoque

It seems like we stumbled into a mini paradise here. Here are some of the activities the KOA offers.

9:00 am  free newspaper, cartoons in the lounge

10:30am air-brush tattoos

12:00pm freezie toss in the pool

1:00pm   water wars wagon ride

2:30pm   diving for stuff in the pool

3:00pm   laser tag

6:00pm   movie night, cookies and milk pajama party

There are two pools, kid and adult hot tub, smoothie machines etc etc. There are lots of kids to play with which means we get some well appreciated adult time.

We are also among the Thousand Islands Park which is a group of...1000 islands set in the St Lawrence seaway.

We participated in every activity set out for us. Frappacino? That would be lovely!

The highlight of the day was probably the water wars wagon ride. Any kids could climb aboard a trailer and travel around the campsite. The rules are simple. If you want a fight - simply open fire. If you don’t want to fight then do nothing and you will be left alone. Jemma and Ryan boarded the trailer with several kids and a couple of adults. They were armed with several buckets of water and some water guns.

We were armed with buckets of water and hoses. It was so much fun, mainly because it was so hot. We didn’t take the camera out because we knew it would get wet. This is a photo from the web site.

This is the best KOA we have been too yet. We have been to about 20 over the past few years. Most of them were in Oregon, Washington and Utah during our trip to Yellowstone. The best thing about KOAs is the amount they do for kids. They all follow the same standard of cleanliness and family atmosphere. You can plan your route, especially in the States, pretty much anywhere by following KOAs. If there’s anything to see there is usually a KOA nearby.

Tomorrow, we are  booked in to the Montreal South KOA, about 30mins from the city centre.
